How to Build a Modern House in Minecraft

This modern house is a two-level build with a white concrete shell, a smooth quartz floor and roof, and spruce wood cladding on the front for warmth. The ground floor has a big glass wall at the front and sliding glass at the back. Upstairs there is a bedroom and a terrace with a glass railing. The whole plot, including the pool and garden, measures 26 wide x 32 deep x 13 tall.
The guide has 11 steps and uses 1,756 blocks in total. It starts with a 19 x 15 quartz floor and works up through walls, windows, the roof, the garden and back deck, and both interiors. Smooth quartz is the biggest part of the list at 811 blocks, followed by 250 white concrete and 180 glass panes.

Tips for survival
- Gather the smooth quartz first. At 811 blocks it is the largest requirement, and you need 285 of it just for the floor in step 1.
- Collect all 180 glass panes before you start the window steps. Steps 3, 6 and 11 use 96, 77 and 7, so one big batch saves repeat trips.
- Build in the guide's order. The ground floor walls (240 white concrete) and the upper floor slab (277 smooth quartz) are the heaviest steps, so tackle them while your supplies are fresh.
- Leave the 4 x 2 stair opening in the upper floor slab in step 4. It is much easier than cutting the hole out later, and the spruce stairs in step 11 need it.
